WHAT WE BELIEVE

Scriptures

We believe the Holy Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, was written by men, divinely inspired and is a perfect verbal plenary, inspired instruction. God is the author, salvation is its end, and it is truth without error. It reveals the principles by which God will judge us and is the standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be examined.

Trinity 

We believe that there is one, and only one, living and true God. He is Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth. We believe that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons–the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit–equal in every divine perfection, distinct, but harmonious, in the great work of redemption.

Salvation

We believe that we are sinners separated from God; that the penalty for our sins is death; that God gave His Son, Jesus Christ for us so that we can be forgiven of our sins; that as a sinner, we must accept in faith the gift (Christ) that God has given us; that we must ask for forgiveness, repent of our sins and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Upon salvation your name is written into the Lamb’s Book of Life and cannot be removed by God, another man, or yourself.

Sanctification

We believe that upon salvation, we remain (always) saved. We are, however, called to forsake the former self and live a new life through the Lord Jesus Christ. This is a process of daily denial of one’s former self and accepting of the Lord’s will and way. Our life’s goal is to become Christ-like, in all thoughts, deeds, and words.

Restoration

We believe that salvation in Jesus Christ restores mankind to God Almighty. We enter into a Father-child relationship with Him, and become joint heirs with Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of God, having been sealed by the Holy Spirit.

More Beliefs

  • Baptism

    We believe the first act of obedience of a believer in Jesus Christ is to be baptized. Baptism symbolizes the burial and resurrection of Christ.  It is an outward expression of the inward changed life.

  • Lord's Supper

    We believe a believer should partake of the elements of the Lord’s Supper with a clean conscience and heart toward God, others, and himself.  The Lord’s Supper was ordained by Jesus Christ to symbolize the sacrifice He made on the cross for our sins.  It is an ordinance of the local New Testament church and as often as observed, is done in remembrance of Jesus Christ. The Lord’s Supper consists of the fruit of the vine, which symbolizes Christ’s shedding of blood for the remission of sins, and the unleavened bread which is broken to symbolize Christ’s broken body on the cross.

  • Evangelism

    Every follower of Christ is commanded to proclaim the Good News that Jesus came into the world to save sinners, and as an ambassador for Christ, to urge people to "be reconciled to God" (2 Corinthians 5:20).

  • Fellowship

    We believe it is important in the life of a believer to have times of worship, study and service with other Christians. This is best accomplished through the local New Testament church.  Sharing life together is the key to fulfilling both the Commands of Jesus Christ and the Great Commission.

  • Discipleship

    We believe that the teaching of Scripture is important in the growth of a Christian.  We are called by Christ to continue to learn and to teach, both from the Bible and our life experiences.  The relational learning of Biblical truths will help equip and edify other believers.

  • Service

    We believe that a believer in Jesus Christ should be compelled to serve others in the name of Jesus.  By our faith we are called to live a life of servitude.  As followers of Jesus Christ, we must live a sacrificial life, serving our Lord, fellow believers, and the lost world.

  • Future Things

    We believe that the end of the age of grace is approaching.  We believe in “That blessed hope…” the personal, imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost.
